Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24
SEATTLE, Jan. 8 (UPI) -- Josh Akognon netted 27 points to lead the Washington State Cougars to a 78-71 upset victory over the 10th-ranked Washington Huskies in Seattle.
Kyle Weaver added 19 points and Robbie Cowgill chipped in 12 points and grabbed seven rebounds, as the Cougars won for the fifth time in their last six games. Ivory Clark added 10 points and seven rebounds for Washington State.
Brandon Roy poured in 27 points to lead the Huskies.
The Cougars shot 53.6 percent from the floor and were 6-of-13 from beyond the arc.
