NBA: Detroit 97, Seattle 85

AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Jan. 6 (UPI) -- Tayshaun Prince registered 21 points and 11 rebounds Friday night to help Detroit beat the Seattle SuperSonics, 97-85.

Chauncey Billups had 21 points and seven assists; Richard Hamilton added 15 points and four assists; and Ben Wallace added 13 points and tied a season-high 21 rebounds for the Pistons (26-4), who have won 10 of their last 11 games. Detroit also extended its home-court winning streak to 10 games.

Rashard Lewis rang up a game-high 27 points and added eight rebounds; Ray Allen had 22 points, three rebounds and four assists; and Johan Petro had 10 points and four rebounds for the Sonics (14-18), who have lost three of their last four games under new coach Bob Hill.

Detroit had a big 54-41 edge on the boards.
