Tiki Barber earns NFC weekly honor

NEW YORK, Jan. 4 (UPI) -- New York Giants running back Tiki Barber Wednesday was named NFC Offensive Player of the Week for the last week of the regular season.

Barber, in his ninth season from Virginia, had 203 yards rushing on 28 carries and added six receptions for 60 yards in the Giants' 30-21 win at Oakland. He ended the season as the only player in NFL history with at least 1,800 rushing yards (1,860) and 500 receiving yards (530) in the same season. His 2,390 total yards were second-most in league history.

Also named in the NFC were Tampa Bay end Simeon Rice (defense) and Washington tight end Mike Sellers (special teams).

Rice had two sacks and four overall tackles in the Buccaneers' 27-13 win over New Orleans. Sellers recovered a fumbled punt, had two tackles and added a touchdown catch on offense in the Redskins' 31-20 win at Philadelphia, helping Washington qualify for its first playoff berth since 1999.
