BOSTON, Jan. 4 (UPI) -- Paul Pierce recorded 31 points, 10 assists and eight rebounds Wednesday night as Boston edged the Charlotte Bobcats, 109-106.
Ricky Davis had 23 points and five boards while Mark Blount added 18 and eight rebounds and Delonte West rang up 11 points, eight rebounds and six assists for the Celtics (13-18), who have won two of their last three games.

Jumaine Jones registered 21 points and nine rebounds, Gerald Wallace compiled 20 points and nine rebounds, and Brevin Knight had 18 points and 12 assists for Charlotte (10-22), which has dropped three straight.
Boston out-rebounded the Bobcats by 46-39 and had a 60-51 lead at the break.
