Report: Clarett wanted by police

COLUMBUS, Ohio, Jan. 1 (UPI) -- Ohio State running back Maurice Clarett is being sought by the police in Columbus, Ohio.

The Columbus Dispatch reported Sunday that Clarett and two other men are wanted by authorities for allegedly attempting to rob two people early Sunday morning. The paper said one of the men had a gun, according to police, and that the two victims were not injured.

Clarett left OSU after the school suspended him for one year because of problems with NCAA regulations. He later went to court to try to enter the NFL Draft early, but was unsuccessful.

Clarett failed in a tryout with the Denver Broncos last summer.
