Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24
EDMONTON, Alberta, Dec. 31 (UPI) -- The Oilers halted a two-game losing streak with a 4-2 win against the Predators at Rexall Place.
Shawn Horcoff, Ryan Smyth, Jason Smith and Jarret Stoll all scored for Edmonton.
Horcoff had an assist and Jussi Markkanen stopped 29 shots.
Nashville's loss is the second after a six-game winning stretch.
Scott Hartnell and Steve Sullivan both scored and Tomas Vokoun blocked 31 shots in the loss.
