COL FB: Tulsa 31, Fresno State 24

MEMPHIS, Dec. 31 (UPI) -- Paul Smith threw for 234 yards and one touchdown Saturday as Tulsa beat Fresno State, 31-24, in the Liberty Bowl at Memphis.

Smith, a sophomore from Midwest City, Okla., also rushed for 45 yards and another score on seven carries. Overall, he went 18-for-27 passing for 234 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions; Tarrion Adams ran for 102 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries; and Uril Parrish added 51 yards and one touchdown on 10 carries for the Golden Hurricane (9-4), who ended the season with a three-game winning streak.

Paul Pinegar was 19-for-30 passing for 213 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions; Jaron Fairman made six catches for 78 yards; and Bryson Sumlin ran for 57 yards and a touchdown on 10 carries for the Bulldogs (8-5), who ended the season with four straight losses.
