NORMAN, Okla., Dec. 31 (UPI) -- Kevin Bookout collected 18 points and eight rebounds Saturday as 15th-ranked Oklahoma beat Alabama, 68-56.
Austin Johnson rang up 14 points and five rebounds while Taj Gray had 13 points and seven boards for the Sooners (8-2), who have won four of their last five games.
Ronald Steele and Chuck Davis each had 18 points and Richard Hendrix had 10 points and two rebounds for the Crimson Tide (6-5), who have dropped four of their last six games after starting the season 4-1.
Oklahoma had a big 36-18 advantage in rebounding. The Sooners made 11 turnovers while Alabama committed 12.
