Tommie Harris' wife dies
CHARLOTTE, N.C., Dec. 29 (UPI) -- Melvin Ely compiled a season-high 20 points and eight rebounds Wednesday night as Charlotte beat the Chicago Bulls, 93-80.
Primoz Brezec added 17 points and 14 boards, Gerald Wallace added 12 points and Matt Carroll scored 11 for the Bobcats (10-19), who have won four of their last five contests.
Luol Deng scored 18 points, Darius Songaila added 12 and three rebounds and Tyson Chandler collected seven points and nine boards for the Bulls (12-16), who have lost five in a row.
The Bobcats had a huge 50-38 edge in rebounding.
