COL FB: Boston Coll. 27, Boise State 21

BOISE, Idaho, Dec. 28 (UPI) -- Matt Ryan threw three touchdown passes Wednesday as 19th-ranked Boston College beat Boise State, 27-21, in the MPC Computers Bowl at Boise, Idaho.

It was the first time the Bulldogs lost a bowl game on their home field, where they had won an NCAA-best 31 straight contests.

Senior wide receiver Will Blackmon, in his last game, made five catches for 144 yards and scored once, running backs L.V. Whitworth and Andre Callender combined for 113 yards on 33 attempts, and wide receiver Tony Gonzalez added four catches for 45 yards and two scores for the Eagles (9-3), who extended their winning streak in bowl games to six in a row.

Jared Zabransky, who threw two critical interceptions, went 20-of-36 for 280 yards and one touchdown and Vinney Peretta registered four receptions for 84 yards for Boise State (9-4).

Zabransky threw an interception in the closing minute.
