Juwan Howard led Houston with 18 points while Tracy McGrady, who was just 4-for-17 from the field, scored 17. The out-manned Rockets (10-15), who have dropped two in a row, again played without injured All-Star center Yao Ming, and key reserves Jon Barry, Rafer Alston, Derek Anderson and Dikembe Mutombo.

The Rockets, who were out-rebounded by a 58-49 margin, shot just 31.4 percent for the game.
