COL BKB: Villanova 98, LaSalle 57

VILLANOVA, Pa., Dec. 22 (UPI) -- Allan Ray scored 21 points and Randy Foye added 20 Thursday night as third-ranked Villanova trounced LaSalle, 98-57.

Jason Fraser had 13 points and Dwayne Anderson and Mike Nardi each scored 10 points for the Wildcats (8-0), who have won their first eight games to start a season for the first time since 1977-78. Ray hit six three-pointers and Villanova went 13-for-24 from three-point range.

Darnell Harris scored 15 points and Steven Smith had 13 points -- 10 below his season average -- and eight boards for the Explorers (7-1), who were out-rebounded 33-30 in their first loss of the season.
