Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24
EDMONTON, Alberta, Dec. 20 (UPI) -- Fernando Pisani scored the go-ahead goal with 45 seconds left to edge the Edmonton Oilers past the visiting Calgary Flames, 5-4.
Shawn Horcroff had two goals and an assist and Igor Ulanov also scored twice to help the Oilers to their third consecutive victory. Ulanov, a 14-year NHL veteran, registered his first two-goal game. Jussi Markannen stopped 10-of-11 shots after relieving Michael Morrison early in the third period.
Kristian Huselius, Daymond Langkow, Dion Phaneuf and Steven Reinprecht all scored goals for the Flames, who had taken a 4-2 lead late in the second period.
