DETROIT, Dec. 20 (UPI) -- Pavel Datsyuk and Jason Williams each scored in Detroit's first ever shootout Tuesday as the Red Wings posted a 4-3 victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Brendan Shanahan scored his 20th goal of the season as the Red Wings have won their past two games. Shanahan also reached the 20-goal plateau for the 17th consecutive season.

Detroit goalkeeper Chris Osgood made 30 saves.
Nikolai Zherdev scored a goal and added an assist for the Blue Jackets, who have lost four straight games.
