Three goaltenders, seven defensemen and 13 forwards were chosen, and every player on the team comes from the National Hockey League, with 11 already having Olympic experience.

The Americans, who haven't won the gold medal since the 1980 Lake Placid Games, will first play Latvia on Feb. 15. The U.S. lost to Canada, 5-2, in the gold medal game at the 2002 Olympics in Salt Lake City.
