With Michael Ryder in the box for hooking 1:14 into overtime, Foster one-timed Rolston's pass from the top of the left circle, beating Cristobal Huet high stick side.

"I was actually surprised Rollie (Rolston) passed it, he loves to shoot," laughed Foster. "It was just pretty awesome that my shot went in though."

Pierre-Marc Bouchard picked up three assists in the Wild victory, only their second win in the last 10 games.

Dwayne Roloson made thirty saves for the Wild, including 12 in the third period.

Andrei Markov, Richard Zednik and Ryder scored for the Canadiens, who have lost seven of their last nine games.

Saku Koivu returned to the lineup for Montreal after missing the last five games with a groin injury.
