BUFFALO, N.Y., Dec. 17 (UPI) -- Martin Biron made 30 saves and extended a franchise-record by winning his 13th consecutive start as Buffalo held off Pittsburgh, 4-3, Saturday night.

Maxim Afinogenov had a goal and two assists for the Sabres, who have won their last six games -- including a two-game sweep over Pittsburgh -- and 11 of their last 12.

Chris Drury, Adam Mair and Jason Pominville also scored for the Sabres.

Michel Ouellet and Tomas Surovy each had a goal and an assist, and Sidney Crosby added the other goal for the Penguins, who have lost their last four games and 10 of 11.

Jocelyn Thibault had 25 saves in the defeat -- the Penguins' second in two games under Coach Michel Therrien. He was given the job on Thursday after Ed Olczyk was relieved of his duties.

Mario Lemieux stayed behind in Pittsburgh after suffering a recurrence of his irregular heartbeat condition during Friday's game.
