EL PASO, Texas, Dec. 13 (UPI) -- University of Texas-El Paso forward Jason Williams had his suspension lifted Monday.
The senior practiced Monday and will be in uniform for Saturday's game against rival New Mexico State.
Williams was suspended indefinitely on Dec. 7 by the team for punching teammate Stefon Jackson during practice. The punch resulted in Jackson breaking his jaw.
"I've made a decision that I believe is best for our basketball program," said Coach Doc Sadler. "It was a hard decision to make, but I've done what I think is right. Jason is excited about coming back."
Williams started 72 straight games for UTEP before sitting out Sunday's 65-59 overtime loss to Louisiana-Lafayette. He is currently UTEP's leading scorer, averaging 15.4 points per game in five contests.
