DeShaun Foster leads NFC weekly honorees

NEW YORK, Dec. 7 (UPI) -- Running back DeShaun Foster of Carolina Wednesday was named NFC Offensive Player of the Week in the National Football League.

Foster, in his fourth year out of UCLA, rushed for 131 yards last Sunday as the Panthers dumped Atlanta, 24-6, to move a step closer to the NFC South division title. It was the first time a Carolina running back topped the 100-yard mark this season.

Foster, who tied a league record with the Eagles' Brian Westbrook with six receptions of at least 20 yards in a season, was joined by Seattle cornerback Andre Dyson (defense) and punter Jeff Feagles of the New York Giants (special teams).

Dyson had both an interception return and a fumble return for touchdowns in the Seahawks' 42-0 win over Philadelphia and was the second defensive player in team history with two touchdowns in one game.

Feagles averaged 44.7 yards on six punts in the Giants' 17-10 win over Dallas.
