The Dodgers, who fired Jim Tracy on Oct. 3 after their first losing season since 1999, were the only team without a manager entering this week's Winter Meetings.

Little, as a manager, was 188-136 in two seasons with the Boston Red Sox before he was fired prior to the 2004 season.

Little left Boston after a much-criticized decision to stick with starting pitcher Pedro Martinez in the eighth inning of Game 7 of the 2003 American League Championship Series. The New York Yankees scored three times in that inning to tie the game and won in the 11th inning.

The Red Sox finished second in the AL East in each of Little's two years with the team.

Little, 55, is the seventh manager in Dodgers history, the fifth in eight years.
