NHL: Phoenix 8, Carolina 4

PHOENIX, Dec. 4 (UPI) -- Ladislav Nagy had a hat trick and two assists and Mike Johnson two goals and an assist Saturday as Phoenix beat Carolina, 8-4.

Mike Comrie had a goal and two assists and Geoff Sanderson and Zbynek Michalek a goal each for Phoenix, which won for the third time in its last four games. Curtis Joseph made 25 saves for the Coyotes.

Eric Staal had a goal and an assist and Cam Ward and Martin Gerber combined to stop 25 of 33 shots for Carolina, which has lost three of its last four games. Andrew Ladd, Rod Brind`Amour and Frantisek Kaberle each had goals for the Hurricanes.
