Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., Dec. 4 (UPI) -- Ai Miyazato failed to break par for the first time in the LPGA Tour Qualifying Tournament Sunday, but won by a 12-shot margin.
The 20-year-old only managed an even-par 72 in the fifth and final round of Q School to finish at 17-under-par 343. That was good for the largest margin of victory since the tournament began in 1973.
Libby Smith and Lee Ann Walker-Cooper tied for second place at 5-under 355. Brooke Tull and Katie Futcher shared fourth at 356.
Morgan Pressel, who won this year's U.S. Women's Amateur Championship and finished second at the U.S. Women's Open, earned her tour card on Sunday. She shot a two-under 70 and tied for sixth place with Julieta Granada and Kate Golden at 357.
