
TEMPE, Ariz., Nov. 27 (UPI) -- Back-up quarterback David Garrard ran for 62 yards and a touchdown Sunday to help Jacksonville beat the Arizona Cardinals, 24-17.
Garrard was playing in place of Byron Leftwich, who left the game in the first quarter after a left ankle sprain and did not return.
Garrard completed 12-of-26 passes for 115 yards, no touchdowns or interceptions, and Greg Jones ran for a touchdown after 23 attempts and 78 yards for the Jaguars (8-3), who have a four-game winning streak. Jimmy Smith made seven catches for 70 yards, and the defense sacked Arizona quarterback Kurt Warner three times. Smith passed Michael Irvin for 12th on the NFL's all-time receptions list.
Warner completed 29-of-46 passes for 315 yards, two touchdowns and one interception; Anquan Boldin made 10 catches for 115 yards, and Bryant Johnson had five receptions for 77 yards for the Cardinals (3-8), who have lost four of their last five.
