COL BKB: Mich. State 74, Arizona 71 (OT)

LAHAINA, Hawaii, Nov. 23 (UPI) -- Paul Davis scored 18 points Wednesday as 12th-ranked Michigan State slipped past No. 8 Arizona, 74-71, in overtime at the Maui Invitational.

In their victory, the Spartans (2-2) blew a 15-point second-half lead.

Davis, who made all six of his free throw tries, also had nine rebounds, while Maurice Ager added 20 points, and Shannon Brown scored 19 for MSU, which played its second straight overtime game. The Spartans lost to 9th-ranked Gonzaga, 109-106 in triple overtime on Tuesday.

Hassan Adams compiled 21 points and nine rebounds, Mustafa Shakur added 10 points and six assists, while Chris Rodgers scored 20 points for the Wildcats (1-2), who lost two of three games in the Invitational to finish fourth. They lost, 79-70, to third-ranked Connecticut on Tuesday.

Michigan State had a sizeable 40-22 edge in rebounding.
