NHL: Pittsburgh 5, Washington 4

PITTSBURGH, Nov. 22 (UPI) -- Ziggy Pelffy had two goals and Sidney Crosby one goal and an assist Tuesday as the Pittsburgh Penguins posted a 5-4 victory over the Washington Capitals.

Richard Jackman and Lasse Pirjeta also scored for Pittsburgh, which won for the second time in its last three games. Sebastien Caron made 41 saves in the victory.

Alexander Ovechkin, who will battle Crosby all season for the Calder Trophy given to the league's top rookie, managed only an assist for Washington, which has dropped five of its last seven games overall.

Chris Clark, Brooks Laich, Matt Pettinger and Brian Willsie each scored a goal for Washington. Olaf Kolzig allowed five goals on 28 shots in the loss.
