COL BKB: Connecticut 77, Arkansas 68

LAHAINA, Hawaii, Nov. 22 (UPI) -- Rudy Gay recorded a career-high 28 points and Denham Brown scored 21, as third-ranked Connecticut took a 77-68 victory over Arkansas in the Maui Invitational.

Gay made 11-of-19 field goal attempts to lead the Huskies into Tuesday's semifinals, and freshman Jeff Adrien chipped in 11 points in the win.

The Huskies led start-to-finish, but were tested by the Razorbacks (1-1), who trimmed a 17-point second-half deficit down to three at one point.

Ronnie Brewer delivered a career-best 25 points and Jonathon Modica netted 13 in defeat.
