NEW YORK, Nov. 19 (UPI) -- Michael Nylander garnered a goal and three assists Saturday while leading the New York Rangers to a 4-3 victory over the Carolina Hurricanes.

Martin Straka, Michal Rozsival and Petr Prucha all scored and Jaromir Jagr added three assists for the Rangers, who snapped a two-game losing streak.

Kevin Weekes made 28 saves in the victory.

Eric Staal, Niklas Nordgren and Justin Williams scored for the Hurricanes, who had a two-game winning streak stopped. Martin Gerber made 28 saves in defeat.

"We shot one in our net and we couldn't get it past Weekes at the beginning," said Carolina Coach Peter Laviolette. "It was just one of those games. They played hard. They played a tougher game tonight and we just didn't have enough to get it done."
