COL FB: Boston College 31, Maryland 16

COLLEGE PARK, Md., Nov. 19 (UPI) -- Andre Callender ran for 121 yards and a touchdown Saturday as No. 23 Boston College topped Maryland, 31-16.

L.V. Whitworth rushed for 89 yards on 19 attempts and one touchdown. Jolonn Dunbar had a 94-yard fumble return for a touchdown; Ray Henderson added a 35-yard interception return for a score; and quarterback Matt Ryan completed 16 of 24 attempts for 230 yards, no touchdowns and one interception for the Eagles (8-3, 5-3 ACC), who closed out the regular season with two straight wins, improving their positioning for a possible bowl bid.

Sam Hollenbach was 25-of-45 for 230 yards, one touchdown and two costly interceptions; and running back Lance Ball added 135 yards and one score on 28 attempts for the Terrapins (5-5, 3-4 ACC), who have lost three of their last four games.

BC had 451 total yards while Maryland had 363.
