DALLAS, Nov. 18 (UPI) -- Josh Howard scored a game-high 25 points Thursday night to help the Dallas Mavericks beat the still winless Atlanta Hawks, 87-78.
Howard added four rebounds, one assist and five blocked shots while Dirk Nowitzki recorded 20 points and 13 rebounds, Keith Van Horn scored 14 off the bench, Jason Terry had 12 and Marquis Daniels had 11 points for the Mavericks (6-2), who have won four in a row.
Zaza Pachulia scored a career-high 21 points and added 12 rebounds, Joe Johnson had 18 points, and Al Harrington ended with 15 points and 10 rebounds for Atlanta (0-8).
Dallas has won 11 of its last 14 meetings with the Hawks and 12 of the last 19 overall. The Mavericks, who scored only 11 points in the first quarter, held a slim 46-43 edge in rebounding.
