DENVER, Nov. 15 (UPI) -- Mike Morrison made 31 saves in his first career start Monday as the Edmonton Oilers beat the Colorado Avalanche, 5-2.
Chris Pronger scored the winning goal in the second period for the Oilers, who had lost three of four games.

Ethan Moreau had a goal and an assist and Ales Hemsky, Jarret Stoll, and Radek Dvorak each had two assists.
Rob Blake scored a goal and added an assist for the Avalanche, who have lost two straight. Colorado goalie David Aebischer allowed five goals on 22 shots.
