
SEATTLE, Nov. 13 (UPI) -- Shaun Alexander rushed for 165 yards and three touchdowns Sunday as the Seattle Seahawks beat the St. Louis Rams, 31-16.
With the victory, Seattle took control of the NFC West Division. Alexander became the first player in NFL history with 15 touchdowns in five consecutive seasons.
Matt Hasselbeck went 17-of-29 passing for 243 yards and a touchdown for Seattle. D.J. Hackett made two catches for 78 yards and a touchdown, and Bobby Engram had six receptions for 70 yards for the Seahawks (7-2), who have built a five-game winning streak.
Marc Bulger was 28-of-40 for 304 yards, one touchdown and one interception for the Rams. Steven Jackson compiled 115 total yards and Torry Holt made four catches for 45 yards and a touchdown for the Rams (4-5), who fell three games behind Seattle in the division race.
Seattle out-gained the Rams, 417-353.
