COL FB: UCLA 45, Arizona State 35

PASADENA, Calif., Nov. 12 (UPI) -- Drew Olson threw five touchdown passes Saturday as No. 21 UCLA out-lasted Arizona State, 45-35.

Olson went 22-of-27 for a career-high 510 yards. Maurice Drew had 88 yards on 23 carries and one touchdown; Marcedes Lewis made seven catches for 92 yards and two scores; Chris Markey had three receptions for 120 yards and one touchdown; and Joe Cowan caught three passes for 109 yards and one score for the Bruins (9-1, 6-1 Pac-10), who rebounded from last week's stunning 52-14 loss at Arizona last Saturday.

Olson has 30 touchdown passes for the season, surpassing the school record 25 thrown by Cade McNown in 1998.

Rudy Carpenter was 28-of-37 for 339 yards and three touchdowns, while both Rudy Burgess and Derek Hagan caught seven passes for 97 yards for the Sun Devils (5-5, 3-4), who had their two-game winning streak broken.
