NHL: Columbus 3, St. Louis 1

COLUMBUS, Ohio, Nov. 10 (UPI) -- David Vyborny had two goals Wednesday night as the Columbus Blue Jackets topped the St. Louis Blues, 3-1.

Todd Marchant tallied the third goal, Manny Malhotra and Nikolai Zherdev each had two assists, and goalie Marc Denis, who was 37 seconds away from a shutout, made 24 saves for Columbus (5-11-0), which broke a four-game slide.

Lee Stempniak scored the lone goal and goaltender Patrick Lalime had 20 saves for the Blues, who have dropped a franchise-record nine straight games (0-6-3).

St. Louis has not won since Oct. 19 against Anaheim.

The Blues out-shot the Blue Jackets, 25-23. St. Louis went 1-for-9 on the power play while Columbus was 0-for-3.
