Peyton Manning among top weekly players

NEW YORK, Nov. 9 (UPI) -- Indianapolis quarterback Peyton Manning is the AFC Offensive Player of the Week.

He went 28-of-37 passing Monday night for 321 yards as the Colts beat New England, 40-21, to help Indianapolis (8-0) remain the NFL's lone unbeaten team. It was the 12th time in his career that Manning earned the weekly honor.

Manning was joined by Cincinnati linebacker Brian Simmons (defense), who registered nine tackles and two passes defensed against Baltimore, and punter Kyle Richardson of Cleveland (special teams), who had a 40.6-yard average on five punts against Tennessee.

Honorees in the NFC were Seattle running back Shaun Alexander (offense), who compiled 173 yards rushing and two touchdowns against Arizona; end Mike Rucker of Carolina (defense), who had three tackles, two sacks, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery against Tampa Bay; and rookie kicker Robbie Gould of Chicago (special teams), who booted two field goals, including a game-winner, against New Orleans.
