NHL: Pittsburgh 3, NY Rangers 2

NEW YORK, Nov. 7 (UPI) -- Zigmund Palffy blocked on a penalty shot and scored the winning goal Monday as the Pittsburgh Penguins posted a 3-2 victory over the New York Rangers.

Mario Lemieux and Sidney Crosby also scored for Pittsburgh, which has won three of its last four games. Ryan Whitney assisted on the game-winner and goaltender Sebastien Caron made 35 saves.

Ryan Hollweg recorded his first NHL goal and added an assist for the Rangers, who had a two-game win streak snapped. Marcel Hossa also scored in the loss, and Kevin Weekes stopped 21 of 24 shots.
