QUEBEC CITY, Nov. 4 (UPI) -- Nathalie Dechy beat Maria Emilia Salerni in two sets Thursday night in the second round of the Bell Challenge at Quebec City.
Dechy, the No. 1 seed, won by scores of 6-1, 7-6 (7-5) to advance to a quarterfinal match against Canada's Stephanie Dubois, a wild card entry, who knocked off Anastassia Rodionova, 3-6, 6-4, 6-2.
Other winners were third-seeded Marion Bartoli, and Shenay Perry. The latter pair will face off in the quarterfinals.
Also, Amy Frazier will play Henrieta Nagyova, and Sofia Arvidsson plays Elena Vesnina in the other quarterfinals.
The eventual tournament champion will earn $27,000.
