NFL: San Francisco 15, Tampa Bay 10

SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 30 (UPI) -- Joe Nedney kicked a career-high five field goals Sunday as San Francisco surprised the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 15-10.

Kevan Barlow rushed for 101 yards on 26 attempts and Frank Gore added 40 on 10 carries as the 49ers (2-5) rebounded from a 52-17 shellacking at Washington last Sunday. It was San Francisco's first win since a victory over St. Louis in the season opener.

The 49ers are 2-6. Ken Dorsey, who started for the injured Alex Smith, was a paltry 7-of-18 for 40 yards before leaving in the fourth quarter with a knee injury.

Chris Simms went 21-of-34 passing for 264 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions and Joey Galloway had eight catches for 149 yards and a touchdown for the Buccaneers (5-2), who have dropped two of three after starting the season at 4-0.

Tampa Bay out-gained San Francisco, 270-208, but had three turnovers.
