COL FB: Fresno State 27, Hawaii 13

HONOLULU, Oct. 30 (UPI) -- Wendell Mathis had 229 yards and three touchdowns on 19 carries Saturday night as No. 24 Fresno State beat Hawaii, 27-13.

Quarterback Paul Pinegar was 15-for-25 passing for 213 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions and Jermaine Jamison had a 58-yard scoring reception for the Bulldogs (6-1, 4-0 WAC) who increased their winning streak to five games. Jamison finished with three catches for 77 yards overall.

Colton Brennan, who was Player of the Week in the Western Athletic Conference last week, went 35-for-54 passing for 327 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions and Davone Bess made 14 receptions for 158 yards and one touchdown for the Warriors (3-5, 3-3 WAC), who had their two-game winning streak broken.

Fresno State is tied for first in the WAC after Boise State beat Nevada, 49-14.
