NFL names its weekly honorees

NEW YORK, Oct. 26 (UPI) -- Oakland running back La Mont Jordan Wednesday was named AFC Offensive Player of the Week.

Jordan had 122 yards on 28 carries and a team-record three rushing touchdowns in the Raiders' 38-17 win over Buffalo last Sunday. Also earning AFC honors were Indianapolis end Robert Mathis (defense) and Kansas City place-kicker Lawrence Tynes (Special Teams).

Mathis had one sack, a forced fumble, and four tackles against Houston. Two of Tynes' three field goals against the Miami Dolphins were for more than 50 yards.

NFC honors went to Minnesota quarterback Daunte Culpepper (offense), Philadelphia linebacker Jeremiah Trotter (defense) and Seattle place-kicker Josh Brown (Special Teams).

Trotter registered 11 tackles, one sack, one interception and a forced fumble against San Diego, Brown kicked two field goals, one a game-winner, in Seattle's 13-10 win over Dallas, and Culpepper was 23-of-31 for 280 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions in the Vikings' 23-20 victory over Green Bay.
