CHICAGO, Oct. 23 (UPI) -- Scott Podsednik hit a solo home run in the bottom of the ninth Sunday as the Chicago White Sox edged Houston, 7-6, in Game Two of the World Series.

Earlier, Paul Konerko hit a grand slam home run to put the White Sox on the verge of victory, but Jose Vizcaino hit a game-tying, pinch-hit two-run single in the top of the ninth.

Both Juan Uribe and Joe Crede drove in one run for the Sox, who now have a two-games-to-none lead in the best-of-seven series. In relief, the winner was Neal Cotts (1-0), who faced only one batter in the top of the ninth.

It was the second time this postseason that Houston closer Brad Lidge (0-1) had given up a late-game home run. Lance Berkman drove in three runs for the Astros.

Game Three is Tuesday night in Houston.
