ZURICH, Switzerland, Oct. 21 (UPI) -- Lindsay Davenport beat Francesca Schiavone, 6-4, 4-6, 6-4 in Friday's quarterfinals at the Zurich Open.
The 29-year-old Davenport is a three-time champion at Zurich. She was runner-up twice.
She has won her last 10 matches and is seeking the third title in her last three events. She won at Bali last month and at Filderstadt two weeks ago.
Davenport's semifinal opponent on Saturday will be Anastasia Myskina, who ousted Elena Dementieva 6-3, 6-7 (1-7), 6-4, Friday. Dementieva topped Myskina in the quarterfinals at the Kremlin Cup in Moscow last week.
Saturday's other semifinal will pit Patty Schnyder against Ana Ivanovic. Schnyder, a local favorite who won this tournament in 2002, beat Flavia Pennetta 2-6, 6-4, 6-2, while Ivanovic knocked out Katarina Srebotnik 6-3, 6-1.
The 2005 Zurich champion will earn $189,000.
