COL FB: Auburn 34, Arkansas 17

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark., Oct. 16 (UPI) -- Brandon Cox threw for three second-half touchdowns Saturday as 20th-ranked Auburn beat Arkansas, 34-17.

Cox went 17-of-26 for 203 yards and two interceptions, while Kenny Irons ran for a career-high 181 yards on 33 carries after replacing starting running back Brad Lester, as the Tigers rose to 5-1 overall (3-0 SEC) in their first road contest of the season. Lester suffered a groin injury in the first quarter.

For the Razorbacks, Darren McFadden ran for 108 yards on 13 carries and two touchdowns. Robert Johnson went 17-of-28 passing for 174 yards, one interception and no touchdowns, while Peyton Hillis caught seven passes for 76 yards and Cedric Washington had three catches for 57 yards.

Arkansas now is 2-4 overall, 0-3 SEC.
