COL FB: Ohio St. 35, Mich. State 24

COLUMBUS, Ohio, Oct. 15 (UPI) -- Ashton Youboty scored on a 70-yard run after a blocked field goal Saturday to help No. 15 Ohio State beat 17th-ranked Michigan State, 35-24.

Quarterback Troy Smith threw three touchdown passes and ran for another as the Buckeyes, who trailed at intermission, 17-7, improved to 4-2 overall (2-1 Big Ten).

Smith added 37 yards rushing on seven attempts. He did not throw an interception.

Antonio Pittman had 103 yards on the ground on 18 carries while Santonio Holmes (5) and Ted Ginn Jr. (4) combined for 229 receiving yards and three scores.

MSU quarterback Drew Stanton went 26-of-36 for 340 yards and one touchdown, Jerramy Scott caught seven passes for 132 yards and one touchdown and Javon Ringer rushed for 76 yards on 16 carries for the Spartans (4-2, 1-2 Big Ten).

Kyle Brown had seven catches for 73 yards.

Michigan State suffered its second loss in a row.
