
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass., Oct. 15 (UPI) -- Matthew Ryan's late 26-yard touchdown pass to Kevin Challenger Saturday helped No. 14 Boston College beat Wake Forest, 35-30.
Ryan was 7-for-9 for 134 yards and two touchdown after relieving BC starter Quinton Porter, who was 20-of-41 for 184 yards, two touchdowns and three interceptions. L.V. Whitworth rushed for 60 yards, and Chris Miller, Larry Lester and Tony Gonzalez had touchdown receptions for Boston College (6-1, 3-1 ACC), which has won four straight.
The Eagles trailed, 17-0 in the first quarter, and 20-7 at halftime.
Cory Randolph was 21-of-33 for 193 yards and one touchdown, Nate Morton had five receptions for 71 yards and one touchdown, and Chris Barclay had 91 yards rushing on 23 attempts and one score for the pesky Demon Deacons, who forced five turnovers, but sank to (2-5, 1-3 ACC) after their second straight tough road loss.
