STOCKHOLM, Sweden, Oct. 11 (UPI) -- Top-seeded and defending champion Thomas Johansson of Sweden and sixth-seeded American James Blake were winners Tuesday at the Stockholm Open.
Johansson needed a pair of tiebreaks to get past wild card and fellow Swede Ervin Eleskovic 7-6 (7-4), 7-6 (7-4). Two-time Stockholm champion (2000, 2004) and former runner-up (1998) Johansson upset American Andre Agassi in last year's finale here.

Up next for Johansson will be American Vincent Spadea.
Blake got past Spaniard Guillermo Garcia-Lopez 7-6 (7-4), 6-4 (1995, 1996, 1999).
