NFL: Indianapolis 28, San Francisco 3

SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 9 (UPI) -- Cato June returned one of his two interceptions for a touchdown Sunday to help Indianapolis beat the San Francisco 49ers, 28-3.

Edgerrin James ran for 105 yards and one touchdown and Peyton Manning threw for 255 yards and one touchdown for the unbeaten Colts, who now are 5-0. Their much-improved defense forced five turnovers, which led to 14 points.

Manning went 23-of-31 with two interceptions and Reggie Wayne added six catches for 75 yards.

For the 49ers (1-4), rookie Alex Smith, the No. 1 overall pick in this year's NFL Draft, was only 9-of-23 for 74 yards with four interceptions. He lost one fumble.

Kevan Barlow had 99 rushing yards on 18 carries for San Francisco, which has dropped four straight games since a season-opening victory over St. Louis.
