In last year's final, Davenport prevailed after Mauresmo retired prior to the second set because of an injury. Davenport had won the first set, 6-2.

Davenport will be playing for a title Sunday for the ninth time in 2005 and a win on Sunday will give her 50 career titles and five this year.

Mauresmo, who reached her fifth final of the season, will try for her 18th career title and third of 2005. Earlier this year, she won at Antwerp and Rome.

Her last victory over Davenport came in 2000 at a final in Sydney. If she wins, it will give her 40 for her career.

Davenport is 10-3 all-time against Mauresmo.
