COLUMBUS, Ohio, Oct. 7 (UPI) -- Daymond Langkow scored the go-ahead goal early in the third period Friday night as the Calgary Flames beat Columbus, 3-1.
Langkow also had one assist, Darren McCarty had a goal and Andrew Ference had two assists for Calgary (1-1), which rebounded from an opening-night loss at Minnesota on Wednesday.

Trevor Letowski tallied the lone goal for the Blue Jackets (0-2), who played without star forward Rick Nash. He has a high ankle sprain. Marc Dennis made 35 saves.
Calgary was 0-for-8 on the power play, while Columbus went 1-of-5.
The Flames' Miikka Kiprusoff made 19 saves.
