FBC: UCLA 21, Washington State 17

PASADENA, Calif., Oct. 2 (UPI) -- A one-yard plunge by Maurice Drew with only 1:08 left in the game led the 20th-ranked UCLA Bruins over the Washington Huskies , 21-17, at the Rose Bowl.

Drew Olson ended 29-of-44 for 287 yards with two touchdowns and a pair of interceptions for the Bruins (4-0, 1-0 Pac-10).

Trailing 17-7, the Bruins closed within three points on the first play of the fourth quarter as Olson engineered a 10-play, 80-yard drive before capping it with a one-yard strike to Michael Pitre. Olson was perfect on the series, going 6-of-6 for 47 yards.

Marcedes Lewis caught eight passes for 77 yards with a score in the win.

Isaiah Stanback was 14-of-27 for 188 yards while also rushing for 50 yards and a touchdown for the Huskies (1-4, 0-2).

Louis Rankin had 109 rushing yards in the loss.

This was the first time this year that UCLA did not score at least 40 points in a game.
