MLB: Kansas City 7, Toronto 6

TORONTO, Oct. 1 (UPI) -- Andres Blanco singled home the game-winning run in the eighth inning Saturday as Kansas City edged the Toronto Blue Jays, 7-6.

Blanco knocked in two runs, Matt Stairs had three hits and one RBI, and Terrence Long added a two-run homer for the Royals, who have won only two of five.

Winner Ambiorix Burgos rose to 3-5. Mike MacDougal rang up his 21st save.

Frank Catalanotto drove in three runs for the Blue Jays. Losing pitcher Pete Walker dropped to 6-6.
